They need to provide customer service training on dealing with guests who have physical and mental disabilities. I had the misfortune of dealing with the ignorance of employee Glen and manager Kevin. My 10 year old son has autism and Glen was very aggressive and targeted my son the moment we stepped into that children’s play area. He called security and the police because my ten year old didn’t put his shoes back on fast enough. He broke a park rule and took them off in the child’s play area. Even after I put them on, security still kicked us out of the village. Glen called me a bad mother , brought race into the argument and just would not let the matter go after we complied and put my son’s shoes on. His manager Kevin was useless and basically said he didn’t believe me because “Glen has worked for us for years and is the nicest guy.” I feel like I failed my kids by not recording this employee. My phone had died. Glen doesn’t belong working with the public. He is ignorant. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!

We bought tickets for the Halloween event on October 5th. We thought it would be so much fun to bring our 15 month old niece. It was storming all day and wasn’t slowing down, we started getting nervous about taking our niece because of the weather. But given that her parents are going through a nasty divorce, we really wanted to give our niece a fun environment to escape to for a couple of hours. We called to see if we could exchange our tickets for another day. They wouldn’t allow it. They wouldn’t even entertain the thought of a refund or even a partial refund. This seems ridiculous given that this institution celebrates the legacy of an anti-union, antisemite, who openly supported Hitler’s Nazi regime. Not to mention that this whole institution was founded and funded using the fortune that Henry ford made off of exploiting the hard working citizens of Michigan. Seems like they could afford to give us a few dollars back, but I guess this is what you can expect from an organization run by nazi sympathizers.

Funny how one person can ruin an experience for everyone. I come from a tourist town, Las Vegas NV. Customer service and hospitality is the key to my hometowns success. Apparently your employee in guest services at the front of the village, (obese caucasian woman) around 1 to 2 pm on May 18th 2023 feels (i assume) that holding true to the Henry Ford's legacy and Michigan's horrible reputation was more important. I have never been treated so rudely for no reason. I asked if i could drop of the motorized wheelchair at guest services. She responded that museum chairs had to be returned in the museum. Thats not the problem. It's how she said it, her tone and words were venomous. Then she topped off her attitude with three eye rolls and a snear. I couldn't get out of your Greenfield Village fast enough, I will never come back to your state or Henry Ford Museum of any nature. It seems to me, Michigan has earned their reputation and all the complaints I have heard are valid. I guess if that's the mentality of the states Caucasian residents, it must not be much to hire from. Such a shame because i WAS loving the place
